GT Management had a succesful season with new accomplishments thru the year. Athletes´ Representative Hans Üürike talks about some of the highlights of the Olympic Year. Physically challenging but very rewarding I was freezing in a tent on mountains in Morocco, when a text message arrived on that cold night in April: “Fedrick took the world lead with 68.02m”. Of course I woke up at 3200m altitude, came out of the tent and started working on this. Fedrick Dacres competed in La Jolla and won the meet with new PB and WL of 68.02m, our athlete Daniel Stahl was second with 66.42m. Awesome emotion and I will remember this moment for the rest of my life – sending out fantastic press releases in the middle of nowhere and climbing the highest mountain in North-Africa (Toubkal 4167m) the next morning. 136th athlete to throw over 21m Tim Nedow had nearly a perfect indoor season in 2016. I did not have to be on mountains to remember his accomplishments during those 2 months. Tim improved his indoor PB to 21.33, which makes him the 136th shot putter in the event history to throw over 21m. Tim also won the IAAF World […]

Mesud Pezer the 22 year old from Bosnia Herzegovina qualified for the EC and OG today at the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, California. Mesud got second in the meet behind Tim Nedow, Canada that won the meet with an outdoor seasonal best of 20.88m. This performance by Mesud is amazing as he improved his outdoor PB last week to 20.00m from 19.99m last summer. Mesud improved his indoor PB many times this winter and ended up with 20.22m that was almost a meter farther than last winter. Today Mesud had for throws over 20m, 20.11, 20.58, 20.50 and 20.09. Mesud has been working extremely hard for this and is worth the ticket to Rio many times and we are all very happy for him. Tim looked very strong today and had many throws landing around the same distance, then went hard in the last one and fouled a throw around 70 feet, ca 21.32m or so. It is going great for him and we just keep on, remember that his outdoor PB is close, 20.98m. His indoor PB since this winter is 21.33m. Daniel Ståhl, Sweden was in a league on his own at his favorite place here in Irvine. […]

Tim Nedow went to the IAAF Indoor Tour meet in Stockholm on Wednesday knowing that if he would win the meet he would win the whole IAAF Indoor Tour as he also won in Karlsruhe two weeks ago when he had 20.89m that was enough to win. In Stockholm, Tim had the meet of his life. In the second round he put the shot 20.88m to take a comfortable lead in the competition. In the fourth round I threw a new PB 21.10m where he executed the throw easily in to an effortless throw. In the last one he went for it big time and threw a huge PB of 21.33m. This was a great win for Tim and definitely the highlight of his career so far. In five meets so far the results are outstanding 20.98m, 21.00m, 20.89m, 20.56m and 21.33m. The average is 20.95m that is world class. Tim broke the meet record and is seated third on the 2016 indoor IAAF world list in the event. Mesud Pezer broke the big 20m barrier twice in the meet in his first and third throw and his new indoor PB is now 20.01m and also his lifetime best as his […]

GT Management athlete Tim Nedow from Canada competed last week at BYU Fall Throwing meet in Provo, Utah. He won the meet with a new personal best indoors – an amazing new world lead 20.98m. Tim had a previous PB indoors 20.54m from early 2015 – now he beated that result on every throw in Provo. His series was: 20.57, 20.89, 20.77, 20.98, 20.87, 20.57. Four athletes from our Global Throwing Management group will participate in the WC in Bejing coming up in ten days. Tim Nedow CAN will compete in the shot put and has so far had a very steady season with many meets over the qualification standard of 20.45m. His SB is 20.78m and PB is 20.98m. Today we got good news as Daniel Ståhl SWE will also compete in the discus and he got in on a wild card last minute due to the rule that IAAF invites top 32 to participate as not all had reached the qualification standard of 65m. Daniel has thrown 63.38m this season but has a PB of 66.89m since last year. Sanna Kämäräinen FIN threw 61.07 already in the early season in March. During summer, she has been travelling around Europe and competing on a high-level. Mark Dry GBR improved his PB to massive 76.93m and holding on to 20th position at the world season list. We are really happy to see our athletes competing in Beijing and wish you all long throw. Enjoy the meet and have fun! Hans Üürike GT Management
