The legendary Track & Field News announced yesterday men’s 2015 World Rankings for 69th consecutive year. Daniel Ståhl from Sweden was ranked 8th in the discus throw – first time for the young Swede to be in the top 10.
Daniel had an international breakthrough when he got 5th position at the World Championships final (seasonal best 64.73m) and only 45cm from the bronze medal.
Daniel is the fourth Swede to make it into the top-10 list in Discus at this ranking! And the first one for 40 years!
Rickard Bruch 8th 1968, 2nd 1969, 2nd 1970, 3rd 1971, 2nd 1972, 1st 1973, 3rd 1974, 2nd 1975 (eight straight years at the ranking!).

Polish duo Piotr Malachowski and Robert Urbanek took the 1st and 2nd position and they were followed by Philip Milanov, Gerd Kanter, Christoph Harting, Vikas Gowda, Apostolos Parellis, Daniel Ståhl, Benn Harradine and Zoltán Kővágó.
Noticeable fact is that Daniel is the youngest thrower on that list.
