VIDEO! Fedrick Dacres 67.30m in California

April 21, 2017 by GT Management in Discus Throw, Fedrick Dacres 0 comments tags: 67m club
Our young Jamaican Discus Thrower Fedrick Dacres competed in Chula Vista, California, where he won the meet with an amazing 67.30m. This result is a lifetime 4th result for Fedrick (68.88m and 68.67m from season 2017 and 68.02m from season 2016 are only better) and as you can see from the video, very relaxed and nice throw from the big guy. Second on the meet was Andre Evans with a PB 66.61m. Video by Shaun Pickering – thank you Shaun!

Huge day for Daniel

February 12, 2017 by GT Management in Daniel Stahl, Discus Throw 0 comments tags: 66m club, National Record, Personal Best, Season Best, World Lead
His indoor PB was 61.09m but we knew he would break that easy today as Daniel Ståhl threw very, very far on our training camp in Fuerteventura two weeks ago. Still it was very unstable today at Nordenkampen meet and the technique was rough and inconsistent. But it ended up being 66.90m and the second farthest ever in history after Gerd Kanter’s world best indoor since 2009 of 69.51m. This result is very good for Daniel but there is much more coming sooner or later, the capacity is huge and with more stability and control everything is possible. In the shot put was Daniel Mr. stability and threw six legal throws and three new indoor PB´s. His previous since last weekend was 19.10m but this time he had 19.26m, 19.32m and 19.60m. Daniel got second in the meet with that performance. Outstanding day for Daniel here in Tampere in Finland. Written by Coach  Vésteinn Hafsteinsson

Management Highlights of 2016 by Hans Üürike

GT Management had a succesful season with new accomplishments thru the year. Athletes´ Representative Hans Üürike talks about some of the highlights of the Olympic Year. Physically challenging but very rewarding I was freezing in a tent on mountains in Morocco, when a text message arrived on that cold night in April: “Fedrick took the world lead with 68.02m”. Of course I woke up at 3200m altitude, came out of the tent and started working on this. Fedrick Dacres competed in La Jolla and won the meet with new PB and WL of 68.02m, our athlete Daniel Stahl was second with 66.42m. Awesome emotion and I will remember this moment for the rest of my life – sending out fantastic press releases in the middle of nowhere and climbing the highest mountain in North-Africa (Toubkal 4167m) the next morning.   136th athlete to throw over 21m Tim Nedow had nearly a perfect indoor season in 2016. I did not have to be on mountains to remember his accomplishments during those 2 months. Tim improved his indoor PB to 21.33, which makes him the 136th shot putter in the event history to throw over 21m. Tim also won the IAAF World […]

Daniel Stahl wins Diamond League final in Brussels

September 12, 2016 by GT Management in Daniel Stahl, Discus Throw 0 comments tags: 65m club, Diamond League, Diamond Race
Daniel Stahl competed in Brussels, where the Diamond League final was held. Daniel won the meet with a third round 65.78m. He also had 64.53m in 2nd and 64.01m in the 6th round. This was the first Diamond League win for Daniel. 65.78m is 6th result all-time for Daniel and his last 4 meets have been outstanding – 64.76m, 68.72m, 65.46m and 65.78m. Daniel competed on 6 Diamond League meets this summer and achieved 5th, 7th, 5th, 7th, 2nd and 1st position. That gave him 34 points and over-all 2nd position at Diamond Race after winner Piotr Malachowski.

Daniel Stahl throws a World Leading 68.72m

August 29, 2016 by GT Management in Daniel Stahl, Discus Throw 0 comments tags: 68m club, Personal Best, Season Best, World Lead
The Swedish Championships was held this weekend at the Sollentuna Arena in Stockholm. The highlight of the meet was the world leading throw of Daniel Ståhl 68.72m. On day one Daniel also won the shot with a new PB o 19.38m. On day two we were pretty excited for the discus as all the guys had been throwing well in practice and Daniel threw a huge training PB over 70m during the week. Daniel started out with a sector foul on 67m and when I saw that I knew this will be his day. With a meet record in the second throw of 65.09m beating the legendary Ricky Bruch’s 44 year old meet record and throwing his farthest ever throw in Sweden it looked good. He barely fouled the third throw that was on the 65m line. Next throw measured 63.83m and then he had a good throw after that that just touched the net. The last throw was the big one as many times before this season, nice to beat Gerd Kanter’s stadium record also. Wow, it was outstanding and the crowd screamed and Daniel ran out of the circle and celebrated. It was a great moment and total […]

Daniel 5th in Amsterdam

July 10, 2016 by GT Management in Daniel Stahl, Discus Throw 0 comments tags: 64m club, EAA meet, European Championships
Last year it was a breakthrough at the WC in Beijing where he got 5th with 64.73m. This time it was more like a proof and an everyday thing somehow. Daniel Ståhl has established himself as one of the best discus throwers in the world. Yesterday he got 5th in the EC in Amsterdam in a strong field of discus throwers and threw 64.77m. Daniel’s spontaneous reaction after the meet was that “it was ok but I can do so much more”, yes I think we all could see that, he can do much more. I see it that if that is the case, well then it is pretty good to be 5th in Europe and still could have done much more. Then we have something to look forward to. Daniel had two throws over 62m yesterday and two throws over 64m and two fouls. After the second throw it was not really a question about not being in the top 8 rather if he could grab one of the medals. He was 50 cm away this time and last year he was 45 cm away. It is better to be close than not and he should be happy with […]
